The inspiration for this image is the Dolomites and an aeroplane flying through the skies above.
The peaks of Trentino Alto Adige have been the setting for my summer vacations for 18 years. A natural masterpiece declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site: I resolved to connect the flight of an airplane with an artist painting.
Alessandro Gottardo
htmlText_B895FAE6_F905_220D_41B0_1AE9D65F1C9A.html = The skilful combination of art and shapes gave rise to this design: fluid and light brushstrokes obscure and exalt overlapping delicate shapes, in a perfect balance between abstract perception and representation of nature. The original design was created with Aurel's brushstrokes and the subsequent application of the more naturalistic and stylised element that gives the wallpaper a more textile look. The chosen colour palette is delicate so as to soften interiors, leaving the scene to the furniture.

The technique used in the synthesis of this pattern is therefore not only a tool for a formal objective, but also a reflection on the totally distorted and unbalanced relationship between man and nature.

htmlText_BB2BAA48_F905_E205_41E7_3C172C15CA94.html = When I first entered what has since become my home, I discovered an old painted decoration whilst attempting to fix a crack in a plastered wall. I scratched the white plaster away like an archaeologist and discovered several layers that had accumulated over time: decorations, wallpaper, paint.
In the Wavy wallpaper these stratifications of different materials and colours are tamed into soft curves in pursuit of each other, playing in an articulated pattern that gives depth to the wall.

htmlText_BB69CCD4_F905_260D_41D0_A825DB936E06.html = Sonia Delaunay was a Russian artist who lived in Paris and specialised in fabric, fashion and set design. She was known for her use of bold colours and geometric shapes and was the first living female artist to hold a retrospective exhibition at the Louvre in 1964. Whenever I think of her vibrant abstract art, I remember and identify with her response to my own work.
"For me, there is no distance between my painting and my so-called 'decorative' production". I have never felt that the "minor arts" were frustrating from an artistic point of view, on the contrary, I have always considered them an extension of my art".
Sonia Delaunay
I started this painting from graphic shapes and finished it with a concrete texture. I believe this design can have a strong but soft impact within a space, especially if it is a clean architectural environment.

htmlText_BC8E9D30_F904_E605_41D7_CF4F408251C1.html = Entering grandma's house felt like being in a garden. Plants of all kinds were blooming in every corner, timeless. I remember some of them as small, growing together with me, looking for space beyond the ceiling, intertwining with neighbouring plants, pushing towards the light. I admired and followed the play of shadows and reflections on the doors, tracing it with my finger. My hope is to be a scion of that great woman, who with such transparency and simplicity, taught me the complexity of life and things.

One of Aurel's paintings, created from a photographic element and then developed by applying lines, signs and shapes, in a style reminiscent of urban art. This design, an exact replica of a detail in the painting, transfers all the power it expresses in the painting, onto the wallpaper.

The pace is sinuous and the spotlight is all on the figure, through which the garment comes to life and takes shape. It is then that it lights up and becomes gold.

So I searched my drawers for old scraps of paper, inks, acrylic paints and even round-tip scissors. Numerous brushstrokes and compositions have resulted in a jungle of paper and marks, with intense colours and imperfect shapes.

Drawing inspiration from this shape and the overarching theme of this collection, 1986, I wanted to create something that contrasted the boisterous patterns of the eighties, yet still embodied the essence of those years. This design consists of a neutral palette of greys infused with mustard yellow, inspired by symbolic shapes of the eighties.

In a sort of trompe-l'oeil with a modern twist, a pattern of tiles creates a play of cross-references to outline an idea of architecture.
Colour is the stylistic feature of the design, with fields and geometries defined by a palette of colours ranging from full, intense tones to more delicate, dusty nuances, in unusual colour associations.

htmlText_CB6662EE_F903_621D_41D3_BD5FF5B8D40E.html = Out of Curiosity is a declination of a Cabinet de Curiosités, which originally referred to a furniture piece used for classifying stones, insects, archaeology or relics of works of art often used as a decorative element by the aristocracy. It was first mentioned in 1599 in Naples. I have always been fascinated by the graphic vivacity of those environments created by the rhythm of insects repeated in variations of colour and shape. I imagined an abstraction, a graphic interpretation of a cabinet which would fit into an architectural environment characterised by soft atmospheres. I then developed rounded geometric shapes in a play of colour contrasts - all complemented by overlapping fabric textures.

Observation and examination, without active participation in the world, are characteristic activities of this period. The quail is also an attentive and circumspect observer: it scrutinises the apparently trembling turtle and is surprised by its determined advance, without losing sight of the viewer enraptured by this small, huddled world.

htmlText_CD076B6C_F905_621D_41EE_22E51F394F25.html = Tubes&Pipes is an orderly and linear structure of apparently three-dimensional modules that develop around a single vertical element placed in the centre, in a near mathematical sequence, generating a visual focus that can be multiplied on the surfaces to infinity.
The distinctive tubular element of these graphics is the result of a part of my pictorial research: it focuses on structures that cage flows and energies, in an attempt to visualize the utter confusion that surrounds us or, as in this case, the apparent order that we give to things.
One thing is certain: nothing is static and definitive; these modules want to grow, develop.
They saturate the space, conferring three-dimensionality upon the surfaces.

htmlText_CD24B5DC_F90F_263D_41D5_C4BD457DAC5B.html = Seventies atmospheres and cinematic influences for the Nove e mezzo design.
The vertical blades of an iconographic office curtain break down the perspective of space, creating new visual narratives.
A dreamlike landscape filters through the curtains like a streaked dawn or aurora of an imaginary place.
Unspoken stories overlap simultaneously, dilating the depth of field in a continuous visual exploration and reading.

The individual strives to perfect their artistic skills and subjects gestures to cultural imposition that silences natural creative instinct. Yet, by making mistakes, they express their unique and intimate essence, exhibiting their unique signature.
These graphics are a celebration of error.

htmlText_CFC653C2_F903_2205_41DA_0033EC47C9FC.html = Inspired by the concept of more, more, more, I wanted to play with layers; the idea of them coming together to create a full and multilevel pattern, one with dimensionality and depth. Soft layers of different forms were brought together to create a single design. The fluidity of the layers add to the beauty, as they are unique in direction and style, yet mold seamlessly into one another, creating a tapestry of fluid forms. The juxtaposition of the fluidity and the complexity of layers are both breathtaking and whimsical.

The interior, in shades of white or grey, embraces shiny and reflective surfaces. The inclusion of colour, full and in contrast with the neutral background, helps to delineate the architecture of the context, in elegant single-colour contrasts
There is a preference for round shapes and curved lines, indispensable for the ennoblement and enhancement of interior.
